These Terms of Use govern your use of the LexBar website and services, operated by [Registered company name] Private Limited. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

1. What LexBar is, and is not

• LexBar is a technology platform that helps you find and consult independent advocates enrolled with a State Bar Council.
• LexBar is not a law firm, does not practise law and does not give legal advice. Advice comes from the advocate you choose, who alone is responsible for it.
• No specific legal outcome is promised by LexBar or any advocate.
• Information on the website, including Legal Guides, is general information, not legal advice.

2. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 years old and able to contract under Indian law. Keep your login details secure and give accurate information. You are responsible for activity on your account.

3. Fees and payment

• Each advocate’s per-minute rate for chat, call and video is shown before you start. Applicable taxes are shown at checkout.
• Payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not store your card or bank details.
• Billing runs from the time the advocate accepts your request until the session ends, and is calculated on our servers.
• Refunds are covered by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

4. Your conduct

You agree not to harass or abuse advocates or staff, share unlawful content, record consultations without consent, post fake reviews, or try to bypass billing or security.

5. Confidentiality

Consultations are private between you and the advocate. Our staff access consultation data only when needed to resolve a grievance, investigate misuse, or comply with law. See our Privacy Policy.

6. Intermediary status

For content posted by users and advocates, LexBar acts as an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000. We will remove unlawful content when required under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, LexBar is not liable for advice given by advocates or for the outcome of any legal matter. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the [three] months before the claim arose.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. You can close your account at any time.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at [City] have jurisdiction, subject to your rights under consumer protection law.
